Hi,
I want to time sync using ntpd service.
Below is the steps that i performed.

1.Edit the following points in /etc/ntp.conf file

1) Comment following line
#restrict default ignore
2) Add server name of Sync server for e.g
server 10.91.4.5
3) Commnet the following Lines
# --- GENERAL CONFIGURATION ---
#server 127.127.1.0 # local clock
#fudge 127.127.1.0 stratum 10

2.Edit the following line in /etc/ntp/keys file
123 M pass

3.Comment out all things in /etc/ntp/ntpservers

4.Add the server ip address in the file /etc/ntp/step-tickers
10.91.4.5

5.Start or Restart ntpd service: service ntpd restart

root@ssl-prd-sms ntp]# service ntpd restart
Shutting down ntpd: [ OK ]
ntpd: Synchronizing with time server: [FAILED]
Starting ntpd: [ OK ]

This is the output i got.
Kindly quide me where i am wrong.

Thanks
